    3G iPad network

We flew into Istanbul airport on May 15 and all 3 companies listed had retail shops before leaving the airport. Prices do vary. Vodofone had an all in one price, 120 TL for unlimited for 30 days. TurkCell charged 25 TL for the micro sim and then data was about 20 TL for 1 GB, 39 for 4 GB, 79 for 10 GB. Avea charged 40 for sim card and then prices were similar to Turk except they had an 8 GB option for 59 I think. Be warned, they might forget to tell you but you need to register your device in Turkey, or the government shuts if off after 10 days. They will do it for you but might charge 10 TL. They didn't warn us about the charge at first. We choose TurkCell, service is good, but there is a lot of wifi here too. Almost every hotel and every bus we've been too has decent wifi so you don't need much data. over 8 years ago

Visiting Istanbul and Antalya. Please Advise areas in each city I should stay? Enjoy nightlife and want to be close to beach in Antalya

We just came from Antalya and also spent one night in Istanbul though we are going back for moreno our way out of Turkey. Stayed in the Sabah Pension in Antalya and really enjoyed it. Right in the heart of the old city and a great breakfast. We did go to a beach there just by the museum but there was no sand, all rocks and pebbles, but still full of people. Better beaches are outside the city I believe. In Istanbul we stayed at the Cordial House, near Sultanhamet. It was typical backpacker place. Fairly cheap, breakfast is extra. Not much security for a hostel though, only one key per room. Have fun! over 8 years ago

Got a 2 week window to go from Vancouver to San Diego return. What are the 'must see' spots in between?

You didn't specify but I assume you're driving? If you are talking about 2 weeks to go to San Diego and back to Vancouver, you might find you won't have time to see much. We drove the coastal highway from San Francisco to the Oregon border a few years ago. That drive alone took us 2 full days of driving and that's only because we somewhat rushed it. It is so scenic and beautiful we could easily have spent more time there. The coast is gorgeous. As you enter Oregon from California on the coast you encounter the miles of Oregon sand dunes, which is cool too. You could easily take two weeks just to drive the coast from Vancouver to San Diego one way. Have fun! over 8 years ago

Which food do I have to try in Vietnam?

For the 4 or 5 days we were in Hanoi this year, we ate pho almost every meal and every time it as on the street. There are so many street stalls to choose from, we just went to the ones that had many locals at it as we felt the food would be a little fresher. The street stalls are so cheap that we felt sinful going into a restaurant. over 8 years ago

Do I need any vaccinations for Vietnam?

We were not asked to show our vaccination card when entering Vietnam in January. Nothing is required, but it's good to have the big ones that many people have mentioned. There are anti-malarial drugs as LisaF mentioned but our vaccination centre said they were only 70% effective and that we could still get malaria with them. Plus, there is no vaccination for dengue fever. So we decided to skip the malaria drugs and just be safe. We just finished 4 months in Asia and Africa, through many malaria zones, and so far, so good. Of course, you can get malaria up to 2 years after traveling to a malaria zone. We are not fans of taking a lot of drugs and adding more chemicals to our body, so we just did the bare minimum. Vaccination centers will give you lots of information and might scare you into taking something you might not want or need, so do a little research as well and only take what you absolutely need over 8 years ago

I need a visa to enter Vietnam can i get it at the airport on arrival or do i need to obtain one before i leave Australia

We are Canadian. Did visa on arrival by filing yet form online and paying half. We then received an email confirmation we needed to print out and then paid another $25 USD upon arrival. You can probably find out how to do it through google. over 8 years ago

We are thinking of traveling around Australia, there is just the 2 of us, we are thinking about buying anAvan r these good vans

Not sure about that van but rented a Jucy campervan In Sept 2010 for a week in Melbourne. Did Great Ocean Road and saw the little penguins of Phillip Island. Camped for free each night. It was a great experience. over 8 years ago
