What are the things to see in udaipur, India and where is the best place to saty

We can't say enough good things about the Panorama Guest House in Udaipur. We loved Udaipur so much we stayed an extra day there. It was the longest stop in our three weeks traveling through Rajasthan, Delhi and Agra. We paid 600 rupees for a ground floor room and it was amazing. The best room and value we experienced in India. The restaurant is ok, there are better options with better quality and value, but the rest of the hotel is fantastic. Our Udaipur blog posts start here: http://ipadnomads.com/2012/03/15/touring-the-city-palace-in-udaipur/ Continue to the next post to see pics about the Panaroma and the following few posts include more things to see and do. about 8 years ago

What are the best secluded honeymoon spots?

My wife and I found a quiet cottage on 4 acres of land in Oregon for our honeymoon. It was just the two of us for four days with nobody in site. The area was surrounded by a hot spring so we had a natural hot tub so hot we had to put cold water into it before entering. Not sure what your idea of secluded is but we decided to just do a road trip for our honeymoon (we are from Vancouver, BC) and spent more money on our 1st anniversary trip when we went to Australia for a month. about 8 years ago

Going to Antalya for 1 week. Like to stay in area close to both the city (for shopping and nightlife) and beech. recommendations please

The beach front by Antalya was unlike any beach we have ever been on. We've seen Florida, Mexico, the Caribbean, Australia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and more. The Antalya beach was all pebbles. The water looked great from afar and people were having fun but we didn't feel it was a great beach. We heard the beaches outside the city were much better, but didn't get a chance to visit them. about 8 years ago

Going to Egypt in October. Any thoughts about safety in visiting Giza and pyramids?

We were there in May without any problems. Many tourists are there but there are many locals that thrive on the tourist dollars, so be alert with who you talk to. We took a bus to Giza, were not interested in a guide or a camel ride or souvenirs, so had to say no many, many times. When visiting sights, in Giza and at other pyramids, there may be people who ask to verify your tickets. This is a rouse just to give you a tour which you are expected to tip for, so just be aware. Egypt and Giza are great and we had a fabulous time with no worry of safety. about 8 years ago

When is the best time to go to Zanzibar?

Weather wise, January should be good, but since Zanzibar is below the equator, it is also technically their summer. We were there at the end of April this year and while it was the rainy season, we still had a great time. The prices were a little cheaper for accommodation and the beach was empty. We deliberated where to go for the beach and decided on Nungwi. We heard good things about the east coast but is more remote and has less tourism we heard. Things to do in Seattle

CityPass Seattle offers a deal on attractions in Seattle. Book a pass and get access to several sights and pick the ones you want to go do. We did it a few years ago and did 3 things, which made the pass worth the money. I recommend the boat tour around Lakes Union & Washington. It's 2 hours and will give you some history of the area and even show you Bill Gates' house. Also, Pike Place Market is a nice area to walk around and enjoy. The first ever Starbucks is there if that's your thing. about 8 years ago

Where is a cheap but clean place to stay in Jaipur?

We stayed at Stephel's Guest House, just off the main road for about 400 rupees. It wasn't great but was ok. We had posted a similar question a few months ago and you can see the feed here (http://answers.worldnomads.com/questions/india/11732/any-recs-for-budget-accommodations-for-a-couple-in-india-specifically-ahmedebad-udaipur-jodhpur-jaipur-delhi-agra--varanasi) Someone had recommended Sunder Palace but we wanted something a little cheaper. We had friends stay there for 900 and it was a really nice place. about 8 years ago

What Is the etiquette for tipping in Tanzania?

I agree with Skhu. I don't think they expect the tip and are very appreciative to receive it. It's best, as with all developing countries, to physically give the tip to the server to make sure they get it. Otherwise you never know who will actually pocket it. about 8 years ago
