    Siem Reap in August

Malaria is always a concern in SE Asia but most GPs will prescribe an antibiotic to take during your stay. This should cover you, however, if you are unfortunate enough to contract it, the treatment of malaria in a first world country is simple and effective. The virus that has plagued Cambodia's school children, from reports I have read, is due to to issues of hygiene and density of students. All of which should not be a problem for a 3 day trip and especially to tourist attractions. Do as you would in terms of hygiene, wash hands, use anti-bacterial gels, don't eat street food, drink only bottled water, don't drink beverages with ice, eat only fruit with skin that can be peeled etc. You will love it, it's such a beautiful part of the world. Enjoy! :) about 7 years ago

Where are the most interesting places to see in Guangzhou?

I really enjoyed Shamian Island, an area with great food housed in colonial buildings built by the British and the French. You will be spoilt for choice there. Temple of the Six Banyan Trees is a nice afternoon out, the attraction being the nine story tall pagoda. The grounds itself are beautifully maintained. The Orchid Garden is a nice sanctuary in the city, there are lovely teahouses there where you can enjoy the tranquility over a cup of tea and some of the city's best dim sum. Exactly what you need after a busy day shopping. The Canton Tower is home to the world's highest ferris wheel giving you panoramic views of the city. The ferris wheel itself is pretty unique, it is on the roof of the tower around the edges, not for someone who is afraid of heights. Beijing Rd is a shopping and eating Mecca. The local food is delicious and it's what's most foreigners know to be 'Chinese Food'. Safe travels! :) about 7 years ago

At Rajadamnern stadium in Bangkok, there is supposed to be Thai kick boxing matches on Sundays. Can you buy tickets easily just at the door?

Yes, very easily. As soon as you arrive, you will be approached. Ringside seats are not elevated, so I found that sitting a bit further back allowed you see more of the action and the tickets were cheaper. Enjoy! :) about 7 years ago

How much travel budget for china , which r the business districts for trading in china can someone hire a travel agent

Depends on your traveling style. You can travel in China for as little as US$30-40 a day including accommodation, transport and food. This would include staying in hostels, catching public transport and eating local cuisine. But to travel five-star, you can easily spend US$100-200 per day, easier in cities such as Shanghai. The best cities for trading would probably be Shenzhen and Guangzhou in the south of China. There are definitely travel agents, guides etc. for hire. about 7 years ago

Would love suggestions for apartment to rent in New York City In August. In Manhatten, preferably East side, uptown, midtown or downtown.

I also used airbnb.com for my stay in NYC, I ended up in Brooklyn in a hipster warehouse loft apartment. Easy to use and reliable. I have travelled to 5 different cities around the world using them. Safe travels. :) about 7 years ago

How's the taxi charges from Laguna area of Phuket to patong and local weekend market?

Typically one-way fares are 300-400B. Depending on peak or off-peak seasons, the price might be negotiable. Many hotels or resorts in the Laguna area will provide a shuttle bus. It might be a good idea to organise to see a Muay Thai boxing match which usually includes a pick up from hotel and then ask to be dropped off in Patong to continue partying. You would really only go to Patong at night since that is where all the nightclubs, bars and bustling restaurants are. In the daytime, you can certainly better off at your own beach on the good side of Phuket. Swimming at Patong beach, gave me a rash, so I would avoid it if possible. Best flight price from Hong Kong to Shanghai: from Hong-Kong or Shenzhen airports?

I will assume you have an iPad, check out the app SkyScanner -- searches for the best deals around and hasn't failed me yet. But the above user is correct, it is always cheaper to travel domestically in China. Hong Kong is considered an international destination. So, if you can spare the time, a short train ride to either Shenzhen or Guangzhou and then a flight from those cities can often save you hundreds of dollars. Yes, hundreds. Another option is a train from HK to Shanghai which will set you back US$62 on a hard sleeper and takes around 20 hours. Check out seat61.com for more info. Safe travels! :) about 7 years ago
