What is the best way to travel from Nairobi to Mombasa?

There are a couple of options I would choose. There is an overnight train service that departs Nairobi in the evening (about 7 PM) and arrives in Mombasa at 7 AM ish the next morning. If you consider this option, book a first-class cabin - you'll be more comfortable. I would recommend flying though. Kenya Airways has many flights per day from Nairobi to Mombasa and its only an hour. The cost is reasonable and if you want to maximize your time in Mombasa, this is the way. For flight schedules check out www.KenyaAirways.com. Also have a look at http://findmombasahotels.com/flights-to-mombasa/ almost 11 years ago

Any tips on safari travel in Kenya and Tanzania?

Hi Rebecca, you're bound to have a wonderful experience. Gosh, there is so much to suggest. Do you have particular questions? We just had a trip to Porini Amboseli (an eco camp), and Mombasa south coast. Depending on the time of year you are traveling, you'll want to see the migration too. I booked all my travel through a reputable local travel agency who handled all the logistics which worked well. over 9 years ago

is the month of may suitable for holiday in kenya

May is usually a rainy month in Kenya but on the flip side Mombasa hotel rates are their lowest. I've been to the coast in May and it was fine - no crowds, the occasional daily rain showers, and not as humid. If you are considering staying at a hotel, check to make sure that the hotel is open. Some hotels close for maintenance until June. almost 8 years ago
