What are the best nightclubs in Hobart?

Indeed, there are many nightclubs in Hobart, each with a different style and genre or genres of music. These are my recommended clubs to check out: 1. Syrup Nightclub -- in my opinion the grooviest club in Hobart, offering retro 80's, 90's and 00's downstairs, plus all genres from house to electro, fidget, trance, techno and nu disco & Baltimore. Guest acts / DJs nationally and internationally, including many big names in dance music. Great weekend crowd and very friendly staff, too. Located in the heart of Salamanca, above Knopwoods. 2. Halo - very cool spot for trance & other styles. Central location in the CBD and cool crowd, also not too pricey and a lot of local talent on show, as well as guest DJs from around the world. Trance trance trance. These would be my fav two clubs, but there are also a number of bars who host live DJs, including: - barCELONA: funk, house, jazz and many other styles played here, right in Salamanca Square - T42, often beats or a live DJ present, from chillled to uptempo (0without getting too crazy!). Excellent food too. - Telegraph - I believe they still have DJs playing there, as well as live music too. Located on the waterfront, If you're looking for a bit more of a mainstream feel, the Observatory down on the waterfront and Curlys are for you (info mentioned above by other posters :) And a very, very smooth jazz bar, Baraki in North Hobart is an excellent place for a change of pace. The jazz doesn't usually finish til 1-2am, and it's always jumping :) over 9 years ago
