To travel around northern Italy, cross to France for a day or two, total trip only 12 days, what is better, to rent a car or take a train?
Train won't allow you to really explore outside towns served by rail, and you are limited to train schedules. Trains are frequent, but you'll be better off with a car. Driving in Italy isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Just remember traffic here flows like water, and you'll survive. almost 8 years ago
