What is the best travel destination this 2016?

This year is the 100th anniversary of the U.S. National Park system - so I would definitely head off on a U.S. road trip. Also, Nepal - an amazing country that is on the rebound from the earthquake - which makes it a great time to visit as it's not crowded and you can help support local tourism. almost 4 years ago

Is this too much for one trip?

Hi Cass, in my opinion, yes - however, I'm sure it can be done. I stayed in Cambodia for a month and would definitely recommend spending a least a few days in each Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville and Siem Reap. almost 4 years ago

    Bali, India, or Nepal?

Hi Tanya, my pick would be Nepal - I just got back from a two-week trekking trip and it is a stunning country. Especially now your volunteering skills would be put to very good use there. Plus, if you love nature, you have your pick of treks and lovely villages. almost 4 years ago

Where to escape from noisy Kathmandu for few days?

I did a two-day trek from Kathmandu to Nargakot, which had stunning sunrise views. It's a beautiful trek and Nargakot is a nice little village to hang out in for a couple of days. It's about a two hour drive back down to Kathmamdu. Definitely check it out. almost 4 years ago

Peru -- Cusco, Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu

Hi Barbara, It depends on what you want to do. If you are trekking to Machu Picchu or taking the train I would advise booking in advance. However, if you want to do day trips around the Sacred Valley you can easily book tours and drivers on arrival in Cusco. It's a beautiful part of the world - enjoy! Alicia about 4 years ago
