"Ordinary people can lead extraordinary lives." Travel is more than just a vacation for us. It's about learning new languages, exploring how different cultures live, and opening our minds to all that is out there. Our goal is to travel the world.

Are 2 nights 3 days enough time to spend in goa? Also- how long does it take to get from north goa to south goa?
I think 2 nights and 3 days in Goa would be very hectic. Goa's not very big but there are several things you could do there - lazing by the beach is the most obvious! If you have the time and want to try out something more cultural you must visit Old Goa. This should take a day and it’s about 20 minutes from Panjim. Old Goa is home to 1) Basilica of Bom Jesus which enshrines the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier, the patron saint of Goa, 2) Ruins of the Church of St. Augustine, and my personal favourite 2) Chapel of the lady of the Mount. It's a little white chapel on top of a hill and offers a stunning views of the port cuty from the top. Great place to watch the sunset too! On another day, I also recommend you visit Fontainhas. An interesting quarter in Panjim, it is one of the old Portuguese districts located west of the Ourem River. The terra cotta tiled houses with neoclassical facades have retained their colored exteriors. The yellow, ochre, blue and green paint is from the period when the Portugese insisted that only churches could be painted white. You'd get some really good photos here! If you want to pick up a souvenir there's a shop in this area that I usually go to called Goa Velha that has art by Mario Miranda, colourful Portuguese-style ceramic ware, and lots of other bits and bobs - it's not too expensive but good quality. Have a read through http://wikitravel.org/en/Goa and http://www.lonelyplanet.com/india/goa - both good sources of things to do in Goa. I'd love for you to see more than just the beaches in Goa - it's a fantastic place, with great food and warm people - but I honestly think you need at least a week to explore that side of it. Hope this helps. Shout if you have any other questions and have fun! almost 8 years ago

I'd recommended seeing the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, also known as the Grand Mosque especially around sunset. It's a beautiful mosque and a landmark on the capital. over 7 years ago
