If you can get your hands on some Sorels, you'll dominate the city in whatever weather it decides to throw at you (http://www.sorel.com/) Don't go all out and buy too much. New York is all about layering. One moment you'll be outside and another you'll be in a warm cafe sipping on hot chocolate. Use the clothes you have from Sydney (t-shirts, with jumpers over top) under a warm winter jacket. If you're planning on going outdoor ice skating (which I highly recommend) make sure you wear some leggings under your pants. And stay away from jeans in the winter- they don't keep you very warm and they stiffen up in the cold. Enjoy! over 10 years ago
H&M will have warm clothes at affordable costs and it's found an almost every corner. Head into SOHO and you'll find everything you need. over 10 years ago
