What are some good museums in London? Is the Fashion and Textiles museum worth going to?

I would really recommend checking out the exhibitions at Somerset house if you're thinking of visiting the Fashion & Textiles museum. There are some great events there. In October a Matthew Williamson exhibition is starting on the 30th running to 30th Jan. I also recently went to the Maison Martin Margiela exhibition there which was outstanding. Looks like they're trying to push a fairly Fashion-oriented schedule at the moment. about 9 years ago

where are some good vintage shops in and around london?

Depends what kind of vintage you're looking for. Was it clothes mainly? If so, I'd recommend Brick Lane on a Sunday, with the Sunday upmarket selling new but gifty stuff. If you're after Bric-a-brac I'd head to Portobello market on Saturday. about 9 years ago

First trip to Europe - going solo

I would have a look at www.couchsurfing.org and set yourself up a profile. The site offers travellers the chance to connect with likeminded others, and although it's popular with younger people it wouldn't surprise me if there are members your age who also participate. The general principle is to offer a bed or sofa for the night in exchange for a meal or any token gesture of goodwill - but the accommodation is always free of charge. The best thing is the host is typically local and well connected, often able to set you on your way with a good steer for things to do, places to visit and maybe even your next night's host. The couchsurfing communities tend to organise weekly parties where surfers and hosts can get together to meet up and share tales over a drink. Other than that, the Lonely Planet or Footprint guides are good and have very full accommodation listings. I also highly recommend www.hostelbookers.com for a very easy to use and clear website for getting the cheapest prices for hostels and hotels. Good luck and enjoy your trip! 3-5 days in East Sussex, what to see and do?

We've been cycling in the forests and coastal trails around Newhaven, which was excellent fun (take a picnic). Also, for a friend's stag do this weekend one of our team is going deep sea fishing from Brighton Marina. Lovely Jubbly! over 9 years ago

What do you pack for Europe in May and June

I would think Spring, not summer for Northern Europe at this time. Take shorts, but you'll want trousers too. You need to have a bit of a mix. To be honest, if you need anything extra you can pick it up on the way, so I wouldn't pack too much stuff. You need a cold weather option for Scotland, France and Italy. over 9 years ago

What's everyone's favourite *known* surf beach in the UK (secret spots not allowed)

My vote goes to Puttsborough Sands, just North of Croyde. I've had some of the best sessions of my life there. over 9 years ago

    Vietnam Passport Expiry date Issue

If you can afford to, definitely get it renewed. Someone we know got stuck in Bankok until she had worked for long enough to buy a new flight after her passport got declined. She had to work promoting clubs for a month before she could get home!! over 9 years ago
