I have one week to stay in Melbourne. What should I do/visit?

Museums: Check out the National Gallery to see what is showing there. The Melbourne Museum has some interesting stuff as well. Go to the micro-breweries. - Little Creatures on Brunswick St. - James Squire in Docklands over 10 years ago

how to get from bilbao to san sabastan

The cheapest way would probably be to take a bus. It was less than 10 euros at the end of 2009 and only took an hour. There is also the Euskotren train network (map: http://0.tqn.com/d/gospain/1/0/u/T/-/-/bilbaotram.jpg ) which would be faster. This is not the usual Renfe train network like the rest of Spain. It is private lines so Eurail passes dont work You can also rent a car and drive down the highway (A8). It probably takes 40 mins or so. There are tolls on the highway so your costs also include fuel and toll fees. about 9 years ago

whats the best way to travel from bari to rome, without flying?

Yeah, Italy is one of the cheapest places to take a train in "western" Europe. If you pick Regionales that stop basically at every place (so they take longer) you won't pay much. Looking on the trenitalia site though there are only IC trains that will cost you 38€ and will stop in less places. The expensive EuroStar will be more like 50€ almost 9 years ago

What is the cost of getting from Bergamo airport to Milan?

Your right Ryanair will always add on some unavoidable extras wherever they can ;) From memory the bus to Milan costs 9€ one way and maybe 16€ return. Or you can catch the ~4€ bus to the train station if you want to avoid Milan (I would if I was you) and go somewhere nice almost 9 years ago

What are some of the local Roman sites around Coimbra?

The Roman forum of Aeminium (Roman name for Coimbra) under the National Museum Machado de Castro can be found in the city centre. Conimbriga has a lot of money being put into it and there are more things being re-constructed (e.g. the forum and the courtyard of the Augustan baths) Both places are pretty nice. almost 9 years ago

Top cities in Russia to visit?

Although I've never been I really want to go to St Petersburg. Lots of interesting history to that place. Especially this story about the crazy Russian queen and her ice palace http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_palace My tip if you plan to go here read up on the Siege of Leningrad. One of the worst battles in history. If you are into art the Hermitage Museum is one of the biggest, oldest and has some ridiculous percentage of the art in the world. Heard so many crazy stories about Russia though! Tough country to get into and stay in! over 10 years ago

need to get from venice to vienna without car. are there buses? trains take 7 hours...

Well I would recommend trains. Even though it is 7 hours, get a day train and you will not regret it. The lines are beautiful through the mountains. From Venice you can go out of Italy 2 ways: Through Udine or through Bolzano (via Verona). Both of these are fantastic scenery and well worth the train trip. To fly cheap you will have to go to Milan to flt with RyanAir, which is 2 hours by train away. So 2 hours to Milan 1 hour waiting for plane 1 hour on plane to "Vienna" (Bratislava) airport 40 minutes to get to Vienna city = about 5 hours in total Maybe there is more airlines that you can look at. My advice is definitely go the trains though. The fastest you will get there on a train will be 8 hours really, but they will be a lot less painful :) Cheers, Niko over 10 years ago
