how to get from bilbao to san sabastan

The cheapest way would probably be to take a bus. It was less than 10 euros at the end of 2009 and only took an hour. There is also the Euskotren train network (map: http://0.tqn.com/d/gospain/1/0/u/T/-/-/bilbaotram.jpg ) which would be faster. This is not the usual Renfe train network like the rest of Spain. It is private lines so Eurail passes dont work You can also rent a car and drive down the highway (A8). It probably takes 40 mins or so. There are tolls on the highway so your costs also include fuel and toll fees. over 9 years ago

can I catch a plane from SPLIT to TRIESTE on Saturday 26 June in the afternoon? or even to VENICE ? Is it a long way in the train ? Thank yo

Split to Trieste is a fairly long way on the train. 15 hours or more I think. The trains have to go via Zagreb. It would be faster to go by bus (10 hours) You can catch a ferry to Ancona, Italy from Split (11 hours and only overnight) and then catch a train north (6 hours more) Or another option is catch a flight from Split to Zurich with Croatian Airlines and then from Zurich to Venice with Swiss Air (6 hours) http://www.skyscanner.net/flights/spu/veni/100626/airfares-from-split-to-venice-in-june-2010.html Looks like 250£ at the moment but it is by far the fastest of the options For flights though you are booking quite close so don't expect it to be cheap. When traveling on a Australian Passport to the UK, would a Australian citizen require a entry visa into UK?

Australian Passport will mean you won't need a Visa for a lot of countries unless you want to stay for more than 3 months. However, be aware that the UK is pretty tough at the passport checking. Usually they are ok with Australians but I have heard some stories that if you have stamps from certain "dodgy" countries (e.g. Russia, Colombia, etc) they will ask you a lot of questions and expect you to have all the details about where you are staying and the details on your travel plans out of the UK. It is probably a good idea for any country you are visiting to take details on the place you are staying and the plans for leaving. These can be printouts of online bookings etc. Main thing is just to have SOMETHING to show them, if they ask, and you should be fine. over 9 years ago
