What r the best places to visit on a road trip from Melbourne to Sydney? We have 7 days.

You could head down to the Great Ocean Road before you start heading further South East. Cutting across with the Hume Hwy is pretty boring and if you have a week I would try and take the longest way possible to get there. almost 9 years ago

When road tripping in the states what is the best method to find accommodation?

Motels are a great option in the states if you want to travel without too much planning. If you are travelling you can pick up motel guides at roadside stops along most highways. Roomsaver ( http://www.roomsaver.com/ ) is a pretty good one. Travelling in groups of 4 can save you a lot of money too. Lots of motels have rooms for 4 people with 2 double beds for around $60 which is much cheaper than a lot of other accommodation. If you have plans then couchsurfing like Sam can be great, but you really need to arrange that sort of stuff beforehand. almost 9 years ago

In Italy should I buy a eurail pass or buy tickets at the stations?

Trains in Italy are pretty cheap for short journeys. My advice for Eurail passes is use them for long trips. Good rule of thumb is about 30-50€ or more (depends on your pass) you should use a Eurail pass and it will be cheaper than buying the ticket. For example: If you are hopping on a regional train from Verona to Venice it will only cost 7€ so using the Eurail pass (if that is the only trip you are taking that day) will turn out more expensive, because you use up one of the days in your pass. If you want to travel from Napoli to Venice however that is a totally different story. If you have an Italy pass, you should use it as much as you can within a calendar day (or including as far back as 7pm the previous day if it is a night train) So hop on a train from Napoli to Rome (get it stamped for the first time here) and then get your connecting train from Rome to Verona and then hopefully get onto a connecting train from Verona to Venice. Do that in one day and your Eurail pass definitely pays for itself. Have fun, Niko almost 9 years ago

Where is the best winter sun spot for Christmas/New year with a (very) limited budjet?

Hey Abby welcome to Travellr! Great first question :) My sister is in Thailand right about now, but it currently a bit rainy to be considered a "sun spot". But if you had better luck over Christmas it would be an awesome place to hang out. In terms of budget friendly places, in asia you just have to stay away from heavily visited tourist areas and you should be able to limit expenses severely. almost 9 years ago

What is the best way to get from Monaco to Nice?

We took a bus from Nice to Monaco and a train back. The bus stops at Eze along the way and it is a fantastic view. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/78/Eze_from_the_botanical_garden.jpg almost 9 years ago

How to go from Orly airport to CDG airport

Because Orly is South of the city and CDG is in the north the best way would be the bus from Orly into the city and then catch the metro/train to CDG. There might be an airport shuttle bus and there are definitely taxis. These might cut down on the time taken if there isn't traffic problems but they are probably just as expensive, if not more, than the bus-metro system. The bus-metro system should take you just over an hour. The direct taxi should take about 40 minutes assuming no traffic (according to google maps) almost 9 years ago
