Long weekend in Tasmania - what to do / where to go?

Flying into Hobart? East Coast is a must and that basically rules out the West Coast for a 3 day trip (save it for next time). Explore up the coast and see the Bay of Fires. If you catch it on a good day it is magnificent. Cradle Mountain, although touristy destination it is stunning. And finally the Tasman Peninsula closer to Hobart so best done on your first or last day (it is a big day). Tasman Arch, Tessellated Pavement and Port Arthur (big and about $25 entrance, but very interesting look into Australian beginnings) over 10 years ago

    Recommended car hire companies?

Jucy is pretty good. We hired a car there for 2 days on the North Island and it was very cheap and a great car. My mum, sister and wife hired a car through them on the South Island and said they loved it too. http://www.jucy.co.nz/ http://twitter.com/jucyrentals over 10 years ago

    Cheap nice hostel

Yep I would recommend anything Russ says. He is an expert on most things relating to Berlin (cheap things anyway). I have only seen the Sunflower and one other I can't remember. The Sunflower was pretty cool and very relaxed atmosphere. By the way, Mariana this is Russell my best mate and Russell this is Mariana, Teresa's best friend over 10 years ago

5 things I should know before I go (and isn't in guidebooks!)

Versailles is definitely worth the trip. There is a LOT of walking though. Get the headphones too then you can hear all about the things you are seeing. Do not miss the big painting room with all the big moments in the creation of France. To experience something different in Paris itself. Just get away from the main tourist attractions and find a small coffee place. I would recommend finding someone on Couchsurfing.com just to meet someone who speaks your language and is willing to guide you around a bit. over 10 years ago

My husband wants to see a soccer/futbol game. Where can we find info? We will be in the Algarve and a few days in Lisbon from 17-30 Sept

Just wondering if you saw the Benfica/Leixões It was a great game apparently. I am jealous if you got to see it. Benfica is on fire this season. over 10 years ago

With summer on the way soon (hopefully), which is the best East Coast beach?

There are lots of places on the East Coast that are amazing. Bingalong Bay is a great place. The beaches close by are really great and you can find secluded areas or busy friendly areas with lots of other friendly people. over 10 years ago

What are the safety concerns in Argentina? Is there a high occurrence of theft in Buenos Aires?

Buenos is a pretty safe place generally. I would recommend still using a money belt though. There are the regular scams, e.g. strip clubs where they just force you to give money over. If you are travelling alone then just stay in more friendly areas of the city like Palermo. Don't travel into the city centre at night unless you are with others. over 10 years ago
