Is it safe to travel to Tel Aviv?

There is no absolute answer to that question either way. You can get advice on the dangers (if any) of a traveling to a particular country usually from your own government's website. For example the state department of the United States lists countries which might not be safe to travel to for various reasons on its site. I can tell you that I have been to Tel Aviv several years ago and security is very tight all around the city. Personally I would feel safe going back but we all know what is going on in that part of the world now and as such it is a risk. Consider though, that everywhere you travel is a risk and Tel Aviv is not necessarily more of one than any other just because of a government list. It all comes down to what you want to do. I have a weekend in San Francisco. What are the best sites to see?

Alcatraz.. I consider that a must see unless of course you have a record and don't really like being back in a prison :) Other popular things are taking a tour of the city on a segway.. and these: The Urban Safari Golden Gate Bridge USS Pampanito Ferry Building Marketplace Press Club Lombard Street Hope this helps! over 8 years ago

I've heard Melbourne ticket inspectors make traveling on the trains unpleasant for tourists, is this true?

Not that I remember.. I was asked for my ticket once on a train over there but it wasn't any different from being asked on any other Eurail train. Perhaps its one of those things that only people with bad experiences are going to post opinions online.. They always say if you have a bad experience you'll tell at least 7 people but if its good you'll tell no one. Honestly, I can't see how they could make it that unpleasant for you.. I mean what can they really do? over 8 years ago

need to get from venice to vienna without car. are there buses? trains take 7 hours...

There are buses but trains are still faster even at 7 hours.. Unless you want to pay for the expensive luxury buses which don't make any stops on the way there. If you aren't interested in the scenery consider flying if you absolutely have to get there fast. over 8 years ago
