Is this a doable itinerary for a first time trip to Italy

Hey Georgie- June will be during the high season, so be prepared for crowds and lines. Deep breaths. I would recommend downloading (if you haven't already) Google Maps. That was a lifesaver in Venice especially (with all of the alleyways and bridges). The Go Euro App is helpful if you want to see what the options/costs are for travel (bus vs train vs flight). It may be that a motorcoach is half the price of the train or a flight is cheaper. It's a good reference tool. I used Trenitalia to book my train tickets to get around the country- make sure to take a screenshot of your ticket confirmation (with the confirmation number). They prefer a printout, but the screenshot with the QR/bar code will work. Since you're going during busy season and your fiance is into sightseeing, you should try to book tickets for things you want to see in advance (to save time and avoid lines if possible). Venice, Rome and Florence are all pretty walkable. There's a boat taxi in Venice if you want to see the other islands (Murano, Lido, etc). The weather should be beautiful, and the best part about being in new cities is wandering around and getting lost, so just be prepared for anything to happen and roll with it. Oh, and I also recommend free walking tours as soon as you arrive. You get to see parts of the city you might not otherwise know about, it's a pretty relaxed pace, the guides are usually super friendly and very knowledgeable (they're working for tips) and technically, it's free! I've enjoyed every one I've been on. Congratulations, and have fun! almost 2 years ago
