What is the best overall shoe?

I've been hiking for over 50 years in many locations. I started with heavy duty leather hiking boots that had to be sealed for wet weather. Now I generally using a running or cross trainer that has some grip. I don't have ankle problems so this works for me. If you don't walk or hike a lot a mid high athletic shoe might be better. Consider style if you are using them for in town activities, maybe a dark color would be better. For more serious hiking use a synthetic material hiking boot named brand like, Merrill or Columbia. All these shoes and boots should fit comfortably the very first time. Try them out before you go. over 2 years ago

Clothing to take when leaving Australia in May, stopping off in Hawaii for a few days, then Seattle, Vancouver and Alaskan cruise

A swim suit and tee shirt for Hawaii. For the others long sleeve shirt and pants that will protect you from the mosquitoes. Wicking material that you can roll up in your suitcase and doesn't wrinkle. Maybe a thermal shirt or two, be sure there are good quality and soft against the skin. A light rain jacket and a sweater or two. Prepare for cool and wet weather although occasionally you will get a 70 degree day. Casual shirt and slacks for on board wear. over 2 years ago

can you suggest itineray for spain for 2 weeks

Depends upon weather you are driving, taking bus or train. Driving gives you the most options. We traveled to Madrid, Segovia, Avila, Toledo, Granada, Rhonda, and Gibraltar by car in two weeks generally staying two days in each city. We flew into Madrid, got a car and drove to Segovia the first day. We had two full days in Madrid at the end and returned our car as soon as we got to our hotel in Madrid to save two days rental. The airport budget picked up the car at our hotel at no extra cost. Took a taxi to the airport and saved about $100 this way. Avoid driving in Madrid. The other cities were easy enough to drive in except parking was usually difficult. over 2 years ago
