What is a fairly cheap, rural place to visit in Scotland

What about Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park - fairly easy to get to, beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains which inspired many literary and musical figures, so can be a cultural visit as well as an adventure out in nature. Another area could be Skye - romanticised as the place to where Bonnie Prince Charlie escaped by boat, rugged scenery and castles. Very beautiful place with small towns to visit, lakes, walks, views - fantastic place to go. about 2 years ago
