In Venezuela, If I buy bolivars in the black market can I exchange those bolivars back to dolars through the legal channel at the airport?

My husband is looking for bundles of mint condition Bolivares notes. If you are able to send them to him he will offer you twice the value of dolartoday.com for 100Bs. or more for smaller denominations. These notes have to be mint condition. No folds, tears, unevenness of paper, stains etc. It is as if you got the notes from the Reserve Bank. This you can actually do in Central Caracas before you leave the country. Don't worry about the people checking you at the airport. They are looking for gold and other PM. Contact indostocks'at'gmail.com for further information over 4 years ago

Nairobi Airport Inn at around 80 Euros or less which is the closest "safe" hotels or check travel consolidators for places to stay in the Embakasi district of Nairobi. Don't forget, the closer to the airport, the less the you have to pay for your taxi. Be conscious of your safety, as a Mzungu, at all times. over 4 years ago

As a female Backpacker traveling alone to SEA, What are the main places I should avoid?

Interesting that you start this question with a "-"ve rather than places that one should definitely visit. Would say that as a person interested in beautiful nature and (original) culture one should visit places as far as possible from major tourist destinations as possible. Most travelers have limited inclination to think for themselves and search outside their guidebooks both on and offline. Read up on the history of some of these countries that you are going to visit and then see the places where major events occur - make sure that you aim for festivals and exhibitions of events and customs you would like to visit. As an interested and interesting (!) foreigner you would then gain access to the right people. Simple advice would be then to get out of tourist ghettos - you will know them when you see them. Smile a lot at women, children. older men. Ask questions from everybody you meet. Formulate what you want out of this trip and go for it! over 4 years ago

So I am planning on studying abroad in Oslo for 6 months next spring. Now I'm wondering if I should go to Copenhagen instead. Advice?

Hello Hailey What negative reviews have you read about Norway? If you like grandiose nature than there really is nothing that surpasses the grandeur of Norway's natural coastline. The cities are attractive and clean and the main sights are accessible to visitors with ease. There is a book published by a young Englishman, unfortunately a "progressive' but still quite informative about the life and customs of all inhabitants of all Scandinavian nations. Reading this prior to committing would be an eye opener to you about the real differences between these delightful northern nations. By the way, why don't you consider Finland, Sweden, Iceland or even the Faeroe Islands? over 4 years ago

Compare spending a week in Italy to a week in Spain in October for a college student

Hello Bridget The cities Barcelona and Rome are not polar opposites. Also, due to the ease and efficiency of plane travel, you can easily divide your time in both through direct flights with budget flights between them. Rome within Italy and as Italy's capital city occupies a different role than Barcelona as Spain's second city and restive capital of Catalonia. Both cities are chock-a-block full of historic sights and sounds. Have a variety of restaurants and night life spots that primarily cater for residents before visitors but are accessible to them also. Better than any comments you get here is introspection into what is really important for you and your fellow travelers and do research through the Internet into how far either city caters to your requirements and desires. Don't neglect other cities in either country; Venice, Milan, Bologna, Naples and Palermo etc in Italy just as an example or Madrid, Bilbao, Seville, Burgos, Valencia etc. in Spain. ANy of those can also contribute to a mind blowing experience. over 4 years ago

I am travellng to Milan for the first time, which places do you recommend to visit?

Visit the Duomo and the covered shopping arcades that lead out from there. This is the inspiration for the covered shopping malls that have simplified shopping around the world. Also don't miss the specialist shops for all kinds of goods: fashion and artisanal that can be found around the city. The Milanese are among the most fashion conscious and elegant people on Earth. They take great part in their appearance. They are also conscious of living in an area - not country! - with some of the highest living standards of Europe and indeed the world. This self confidence should be of interest to visitors who come from areas which worship coarseness and mediocrity to show them that alternatives exist. Last but not least the food served in Milan tends be of high standard. Expensive but worth it. Splurge on the Hotel Principe di Savoia if you can.
