Best restaurants and eateries? Mid to low budget but happy to fork out once or twice for the trip

Having visited NYC several times with different people, I always take my fellow traveller to Ellen's Stardust Diner. Situated near Times Square, it is a 50's all-american diner with a twist ... The waiters/waitresses sing broadway & movie classics while you eat. Prices are mid-range for NYC but let me assure you, the entertainment while you dine is first class. A wonderful unique restaurant in the heart of the city. over 5 years ago

    Brussels or Edinburgh?

I would have to recommend Edinburgh. The city is full of history and culture and has lots to see and do. The city is safe, people are friendly and transport in Edinburgh itself is relatively cheap (trams, buses, trains) which means getting around is exceptionally easy. Restaurants and bars are plentiful and you will not feel intimidated being alone. As for craft beer, Edinburgh is home to Innis & Gunn Brewing company, which has some fantastic beers offered in most bars. I would also suggest visiting Glasgow, which can be reached by bus or train and is approximately 1 hour from Edinburgh. Their slogan 'People make Glasgow' is very true, you will not find a friendlier city. over 5 years ago
