Where are some good spots to stay in pokhara?

We are budget travellers and have been staying down the south end of town, in the side street with the well known am/pm cafe and the peace eye guest house. We have stayed in a few different guest houses in this street and they have all been good clean basic rooms. What we is really nice about this end of lakeside is that it is a bit quieter and the food is also a bit cheaper, while still having a really warm friendly pokhara vibe! I think it would be hard to go wrong choosing a place in your price range anywhere in Pokhara. almost 5 years ago

Where is the best place to buy lightweight travel and outdoor gear in Hong Kong?

Thanks. We went to the RC outfitters store in Mong Kok as well as a few others including Racing The Planet, The Overlander, and The Outdoor Store. For others who are. also looking for outdoor gear, we found that RC outfitters. had the biggest range. Mirabell also had a good range of Merrell shoes. about 5 years ago

We enjoy museums generally, how much time should we plan on spending at the National Museum in Phnom Pehn?

Hi Jaky we visited this museum recently. It was only very small, and felt more like gallery of ancient artefacts rather than a history museum. We were there for an hour or so and felt like we had plenty of time to see everything. If you pay for one of the private guided tours when you arrive you would probably want to allow a little more time. There are some signs in English but most only give basic information like the age of the piece and where it was found. The garden in the centre of the museum is also a nice relaxing, green, and sweetly fragrant place to just sit and chill out. about 5 years ago

How to travel from Phnom Penh to Angkur Wat? And how long is the travel time?

We also used the Mekong express for this journey and found it a painless and fairly easy trip. about 5 years ago

Contact details of Angkor wat' guide, please!

We noticed that there were also lots of guides for hire at Angkor wat. They were all wearing brown-beige uniforms and seemed to be found at the entrance to the major temples. about 5 years ago

which palces you recomend to visit in Cambodia for a more authentic experience?

In Phnom Penh we signed up for an overnight tour with a company called Betelnut Tours. http://betelnuttours.com It was run by a Cambodian & Dutch couple living in Phnom Penh and, although on the pricy end of Cambodia experiences, we had a fabulous time. We got taken to some of their favourite local picnic spots outside of Phnom Penh and spent the night at their family farm cooking together in the outdoor kitchen and hanging out in the hammocks just chatting. I think once you have a look at their website you'll get a really good feel for the sort of people they are. My second authentic experience recommendation would be to find out a bit more about some of the social enterprises running in Siem Reap. We discovered these by accident by picking up a brochure from ConCERT http://www.concertcambodia.org and learnt so much about the challenges facing the Cambodian people by just asking questions when we visited these local businesses. Included in this recommendation is must do visit to the incredible GreenGecko project http://www.greengeckoproject.org It's also worth looking over the ConCERT website to read up on how to be socially responsible tourist http://www.thinkchildsafe.org/thinkbeforevisiting/ because it seems there is whole heap of victim tourism in Cambodia branding itself as authentic inside experiences. about 5 years ago
