Best data SIM card for Portugal

We asked friends and family here and they are apparently pretty much all the same. We went with vodaphone, from memory I think it coat us 20€ for 5gb and then you just load it up with extra credit to make calls etc. (call and text credit doesn't seem to go very far). about 4 years ago

    Mosquito nets in New Zealand/Sydney

No, absolutely not necessary. Definitely no mozzies in Sydney or NZ in winter, or even autumn. over 4 years ago

Is it worth spending a month on the East Coast (cairns to Sydney) from the Middle of June?

Weather will still be pretty good north of sydney and get even warmer as you head up the coast towards cairns (or vice versa if you are heading down). Most of the north east coast, especially byron and anywhere in qld will be busy ... no ghost towns there. In fact it's common for people who live in Sydney to head up to queensland for some warmer weather during winter. Now having said all that, don't get me wrong, Sydney will still be quite cold, and probably wet, but that is cold by Sydney standards - not as cold as NZ. over 4 years ago

Will 30 Euros a day in Italy be enough?

www.priceoftravel.com publishes a "Backpackers Index" each year for popular cities around the world. We have found this to be a handy resource to get an idea about budget travellers prices as we move from country to country. They break down the daily costs into common expenses such as food, drinks, transport, accommodation so maybe you use that information to get some ideas about where you can cut costs. over 4 years ago

Is there Gluten free Western Food in Kowloon, Nathan Road, Hong Kong?

There is a Pret A Manger www.pret.hk in one of the arcades near causeway bay station (sorry I don't remember the name of the arcade but I do know they pop up on google maps). My husband is gluten intolerant and we found this place on our last day in Hong Kong. All the soy sauce in everything was a food mine field for him so we often ate at some of the Indian places dotted around Hong Kong. Good luck with your gluten free hunt, and hopefully you find something a bit closer than causeway bay. over 4 years ago

Hi! I am going to backpack Europe this year, and have a question about which to buy.. Should I get a 30 L or a 40 L? Thanks! :)

Hi, I have been travelling in Asia ( and now Europe) for about 6 months with a 40 litre backpack. I try to travel light in terms of clothes, but I am able to fit summer and winter clothes, some basic toiletries, and some art materials. I also used this bag to trek in Nepal mid winter. It may help to know, that I have noticed that 10 litres difference on the bag label does not necessarily mean it can hold more. Apparently they all calculate it a bit differently so sometimes a 35L bag can actually hold more than a 40L bag. My recommendation would be to look for something that has straps so that you can attach things like shoes, sleeping bag, warm jacket if you run out of room. When it comes to carry on, beware that you can easily fill a 30L bag with 10 or more kg, which may cause problems with budget airlines weight limits. over 4 years ago

What are some names of outdoor gear shops in Portugal?

Ok here's another one we found. They are on Rua Brita Capelo, not too far from Carolina Michaelis metro station. campingshop.co.pt over 4 years ago
