Heading to new zealand soon. Is it cheaper to hire a vehicle by walking up to the counter on the day or booking a month in advance?

This really depends on the time of year you are coming to New Zealand, there are limited stock with most companies so I'd recommend getting it organized before you arrive, the last thing you want is to delay your trip because no one has a van for you, The price will really depend on what kind of campervan you want, 2 berth 4 berth etc and how long your hire period is. for example the longre you hire period is the lower the daily rate will be, but expect to pay a further $20-$25 per day for insurance, and it is worth getting to drive around NZ. Krabi or Phi Phi? 7 days to spend there.

I'd stay in Krabi, one of my favourite places in thailand, You can do a boat trip out to some stunning beaches from Crabi, I did the main snorkel and Riley beach trip which was awesome, Stay in Krabi town, so much better than Au Nang (however you spell it) Krabi town has a real local feel with little food markets and shops at local prices. Chan Cha Lay is the best guest house to stay and they can help you with things to see. It's also worth getting a moped for a day and driving around to the hot springs, visit some waterfalls and you can even do a horse riding trip along the beach. Like Mathew said Phi Phi is just too much party! over 4 years ago

Hi there, I would like to know if I buy a car in Auckland for about 2500 NZ dollars if I can sell it ?

Yeah it's pretty easy to but a car and sell it again in New Zealand, If you are doing quite a lot of driving in NZ be prepared to spend money on the car, oil, tyres, services as cars ware and tear quickly with the conditions with the weather and the roads. Every hostel you stay in will have a notice board or folder where you can see all car sales and there are also 2 weekly car markets in Auckland where you can go and check out cars and test drive them. It's where all the travellers go to sell their cars after their travels. www.carfair.co.nz which is in ellerslie, Auckland and the ather is called auckland car market. hope this helps over 4 years ago
