Is the travel insurance acceptable for schengen visa application

Hi Mpho. Kellie from Worldnomads.com here. It all depends on your country of permanent residency as to whether the policy is accepted for Schengen visa applications. World Nomads provides policies underwritten by 5 different insurers depending on where you are from. So for example, if you buy the policy underwritten by ihi Bupa ( covers residents in more than 130 countries), this policy does satisfy all the requirements for the Schengen visa. If you have any specific insurance questions, please ask our service team directly who will be more than happy to help: https://www.worldnomads.com/contactus.aspx (we try to keep our Ask a Nomad service for general travel questions that our travel community can answer.) Travel insurance for the Medicare set?

Hi. Kellie here from WorldNomads.com All policies available through World Nomads have age limits ranging from 60 to 70 years depending on your country of permanent residency. While we are unable to offer cover for active travellers like yourself who are over the age of 70 years, a search online for 'over 70 travel insurance' may yield results. Best of luck. over 7 years ago

Is there any protection against physical and material damage of me for another person like third party insurance?

Hi Johannes, Kellie here from WorldNomads.com. There's a 'Personal Liability' benefit included in your current policy (for permanent residents of Germany). This benefit provides cover for legal liability for any physical injury or property damage you negligently cause to a third party (under the existing laws of the country in which such injury or damage occurs). Also, there's cover for defence costs for the legal liability for any physical injury or property damage you negligently cause to a third party (where agreed by the insurer). You'll find all the information on Personal Liability cover, including the exclusions, in the policy wording in Section 24 (login to your membership page to access the policy wording) .If you have any specific insurance questions, please ask our service team directly who will be more than happy to help: https://www.worldnomads.com/contactus.aspx (we try to keep our Ask a Nomad service for general travel questions that our travel community can answer.) What is the best way to insure yourself for 12 months in Canada, but 6/7 months of that will be for a ski season?

Hi Bonclements,Kellie here from Worldnomads.com As it's possible to buy a policy while already travelling, you can either buy a policy for the entire 12 month period which includes winter sports cover OR your other option is to buy two separate consecutive policies with one including winters sports cover (for 6/7 months of the ski season ) and the other excluding winter sports cover for the remaining time you are in Canada when the ski season is over.Just be sure to check that buying two policies is more economical than buying just the one for the entire trip. When buying a new policy while already travelling, just be sure to be aware of the conditions relating to the waiting periods. Is Kilimanjaro trekking covered by the insurance??

Hi Caterina,Kellie from worldnomads.com here. You're right! Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro can be considered trekking /hiking provided you are not using support ropes (attached to your body as in mountaineering). You can buy a policy online anytime, even if you're already travelling. Just be sure to read policy wording / full description of cover carefully for full terms and conditions, limits and exclusions as all plans are different, depending on your country of residence. For example: some plans have a 3 day waiting period if you buy it and you're already away from home. Other plans offer cancellation coverage from the time you buy insurance, so you may want to buy insurance as soon as you start incurring trip costs. And, if you buy the insurance after you're sick or injured, then it's unlikely you'll be covered as insurance is made for unexpected events. If you have specific questions about coverage, please talk to our customer service team - they're always happy to help: http://worldnomads.com/contactus.aspx Hope you have a great trip and enjoy the views from the top of the mountain! over 7 years ago
