What does "start date" mean? Does it mean starting today (I just bought the tickets for December), or starting in Dec?

Hi Gray. Kellie from World Nomads here. The 'Start Date' is the date you depart on your travels ( eg the day your trip starts in Dec). You will be covered for Pre-Trip Cancellation after you buy your policy and before you depart on your travels in December once you buy your policy though. Hope this clarifies. Can I start in Canada and end in Australia?

Hi Andiennis Kellie from World Nomads here. If your query relates to buying a policy for a one way journey then yes, this is most definately possible when buying a policy through World Nomads. We do now require that you have a return ticket in order to buy a policy although do read the policy wording as certain restrictions may apply to some benefits (depending on your country of permant residency). You can also buy a policy while already travelling. Just be aware that a waiting period may apply (again depending on yoour country of permanent residency) when buying a policy once you've already left home. If you have any insurance related queries, do contact our customer service team as they will be more than happy to answer any queries you may have. Email service@worldnomads.com. in due to fly from bangkok to phuket in 24 hrs

Hi Lozza. Kellie from World Nomads here. I do hope you are feeling better now. It is best to contact the emergency assistance team (the number is listed on your policy certificate or look it up on our website) to discuss any claim related to cancellation/rescheduling due to illness etc. It is difficult for us to advise when we don't know where you are from and what kind of policy you have. The emergency assistance team should be able to help you with any of your queries. All the best Kellie about 6 years ago

    Electronics items are covered

Hi Sneha Kellie from World Nomads here. There is cover available for electronic items but the amount of coverage per item and the total amount claimable will vary depending on where you are from (your country of permanent residency). You may also have the option to increase the cover on specific high value items if you feel the standard cover isn't enough. Again the option to do this depends on where you are from. Always a good idea to read the policy wording relevant to your country of permanent residency as this is where you'll find any information relating what's covered and not covered and the terms of the policy. If you have any specific insurance questions, please ask our customer service team directly who will be more than happy to help: https://www.worldnomads.com/contactus.aspx Best wishes Kellie about 6 years ago

how do I insure a family of 4 if my daughters are 20 and 15 years?

Hi Paolo Kellie here from World Nomads. If your 20 year old daughter can not qualify as a dependent (as this will most probably be the case but because we offer 5 different policies depending on where you're from, you will need to check by looking at the policy wording for a definition of 'dependent' to see the age limits) then she will need her own separate single policy. If you have any specific insurance questions, please ask our service team directly who will be more than happy to help: https://www.worldnomads.com/contactus.aspx Best wishes Kellie over 6 years ago

We leave permanent residency in Malaysia 17/10/14, to take up permanent residency in Australia 15/11/14. Travel insurance for this period?

Hi Gerard Kellie from World Nomads here. As Australian citizens returning home to Australia permanently, you are more than welcome to buy a policy selecting Australia as your country of permanent residency. This policy can cover you until you arrive back in Australia (but not once your in Australia as it can not cover you within your home country). Re the address in Australia, you can use a relatives or close friend...no issue! If you have any other specific insurance questions, please ask our service team directly who will be more than happy to help: https://www.worldnomads.com/contactus.aspx Best wishes and safe travels home. insurance for 23 days in USA

Hi Jarek Kellie from World Nomads here. It does depend on where you are from as to what policy durations are available. If you are travelling for 23 days, you will need to buy the 4 week policy outright to cover your entire trip as currently we do not have the option to choose exact dates. If there is the option to choose a duration of 2 or 3 days (this will be available when getting a quote and will again depend on where you are from as we have different policies available depending on your country of permanent residency) , then you can also buy the 3 week plan and then extend by 2 days. Policy extensions can be done only after your policy has commenced.
