Hi Talukdar Kellie from World Nomads here. If you do buy a travel insurance policy through World Nomads, pregnancy can be covered with conditions that apply depending on where you're from (your country of permanent residency). In general, if pregnancy is covered by a policy available through World Nomads, all policies can cover up to 26 weeks gestation only. So while you can certainly buy a policy to cover your family on your trip to Germany, at 28 weeks gestation it will not be possible to cover your wife for anything related to her pregnancy. We are unable to provide any information related to your query about health insurance provided to travellers by the German government as this is a topic we are not familiar with. Best of luck. Does anyone know of a good travel insurance company similar to World Nomad's? WN will only insure for 1 year max and we need 2 years.
Hi Kristin Kellie from World Nomads here.I understand you now have the information you need relating to your query and it has all worked out with cover available to you for the entire duration of your travels. For others reading this, it does depend on where you're from as to whether it's possible to extend a policy beyond the 12 month mark when traveling for extended periods of time. For example, if you are from Australia or New Zealand, you can extend a policy for as many times as needed and for as long as needed ( ie each time you extend it can be up to 12 months but there is no limit to the number of times you can extend). If you're from a country where the policy underwritten by ihi Bupa is offered ( eg Continental Europe, Asia, South America , Africa etc) or if you're from Canada, you can extend a policy up to 12 months and then if you are travelling beyond 12 months, you can buy a new policy to cover your ongoing travels ( for Canadians, you must have provincial health care in place for the entire policy duration). Also be aware of waiting periods when buying a policy while already travelling. If you're from the UK or Ireland, there are specific limits to the total policy duration available (inclusive of extensions). Always a good idea to read the policy wording relevant to your country of permanent residency as this is where you'll find any information relating to the conditions surrounding policy extensions. Hi Sneha Kellie from World Nomads here. There is cover available for electronic items but the amount of coverage per item and the total amount claimable will vary depending on where you are from (your country of permanent residency). You may also have the option to increase the cover on specific high value items if you feel the standard cover isn't enough. Again the option to do this depends on where you are from. Always a good idea to read the policy wording relevant to your country of permanent residency as this is where you'll find any information relating what's covered and not covered and the terms of the policy.
