Pls let us know the best way to travel from Milan airport to lake como, also a decent small place to stay, thanx

Hi Nikki, I suggest you same solution of my friends when thy visit me from London. You can pick a convenient solution in Milan, cause Milan doesn't deserve many days in. Check Rent OK (http://www.rentok.it) they provide short term rentals in fully furnished apartments in Milan. Then pick MJ Service (http://www.mjservice.it) and ask of Mauro, they provide cheap car with driver service, they're reliable and fast and can bring you to Como or to any destination (Mauor's also a good guide). over 7 years ago

What to budget for a week in Milan?

Milan is not so expensive indeed, unless you go shopping in Via Montenapoleone or eating in Galleria! You can have good supper for 20-30 Euro all included, except for wines and stay in a good hotel for 50 Euro per night. If you are going to stay for a week, I can suggest you this website (friend of mine) for residence in Milan: http://www.rentok.it/Pages/en_rentok_english_home_page.aspx They provide good solution for short period accomodations in Milan: better and cheaper than hotel rooms! Moreover, according to me 1 week in Milan is too much, you just need 2-3 days for shopping and seeing some museum, than I'd better visit some other places: Bologna is 2 hours far, Venice and Florence 3 hours and you can easily travel using a car with driver service! Don't think it's expensive especially if you are 2 ore more, consider you can travel with timetable you decide and you don't risk delays with trains or buses which are common in Italy. Here's a cheap and quality car with driver service in Milan: http://www.mjservice.it/en/index.htm they can also bring you to Outlet like Foxtown or Serravalle . My advice is not to lose the opportunity of a visit to beautiful italian cities, Milan only deserves a short visit! (I'm italian and live near Milan!) about 9 years ago
