Dont rush your vacation! It will be no fun. I would suggest you enjoy the time in the city. Half a day is really tight if you want to travel anywhere more than an hour drive. You may take half day tours in Hanoi I believe. Not sure if travel agencies such as Intrepid or Buffalo Tours have such short tours. But you may try websites listing individual tour guides like www.triip.me. over 6 years ago
Well, agree with Emma. You should start with Vietnam cos it is the most developed countries amongst the three. Get yourself up to speed with the culture so you wouldn't get a shock later on. It would be tough to advise on itinerary cos it depends on your taste, if you like adventurous natural trekking or cultural exploration vacation. You may try tours organized by the big companies like Saigon Tourist or Viet Travel. They have tours across all 3 countries. Or like Emma mentioned, try booking separate locally guided tours on different cities on triip.me. Structured tours you may enjoy part of it, while other part you are served with things totally out of taste. Locally guided tour you may choose what you like at each destination. If you are not sure, I suggest you contact all of them to see which can provide you what you need. over 6 years ago
Hi, we plan to travel from Saigon to Phu Quoc Island, spending one or two nights in the Mekong Delta...any suggestions for must see places?
You have got yourself a good mix there. Saigon is bursting with activities even until late night. Mekong Delta is really Asian, a side of life that can probably be seen only here. Phu Quoc, I have just visited a couple of weeks back, is still quite untouched, as mentioned by Original Nomad above. You would mostly spent time on the beach. I would suggest you to spend 3-4 days in Saigon, 2 days in Mekong Delta and probably 2-3 days in Phu Quoc. I have contact of a guide in Phu Quoc I hired. He mentioned he has a group of friends can guide English, Russian, Chinese, French. I took a 2 day tour there, but I guess you can just hire him for a day to know about the island and spend the next day on the beach. There are some interesting stuffs he can tell you. Let me know if you want contact. Other places in Vietnam I used www.triip.me. Pretty much you can find anything there. over 6 years ago
