Oxford or Cambridge are great places to visit on a day trip and are very tourist friendly. Cambridge you catch the train from Kings Cross and Oxford from Paddington. Both trips take about an hour. If you book online in advance at national rail website it will be cheaper. Cambridge has more of a countryside feel, with huge meadows to wander around in, but both are very pretty and small enough to walk around in a day. over 6 years ago
Lee garden, they have restaurants throughout the city. Little bit more expensive but v easy to order as waiters speak English and there are pictures etc which is sometimes rare in HK. Plus v nice atmosphere and great food! Recommended to me by a HK local over 6 years ago
Ok nomads... I have 2 layovers in Hong Kong each about 20 hours... Not planning on sleep so where should I go?
The Peak early evening if you have a night layover is great. Lots of restaurants around the Soho area are also open all night. Wan Chai and LKF (the bar areas) are also buzzing all night, particularly Wednesday and Thursday for ladies nights and over the weekend. over 6 years ago
