Where are some areas of Rome to avoid? I'm trying to find a compromise between cheaper hotels and dangerous areas.

Avoid the Pantheon area at night. It's a little on the outskirts of Rome and has lots of narrow alleyways, which can look quite charming from a history buff's point of view, but are unsafe for tourists. The Termini station area too is notorious for pickpocketing incidents. There is a general perception that Rome is unsafe at night, but the well-lit touristy areas can be frequented at night. Rome is exceptionally beautiful at night, and you'd miss out on a lot if you don't see the city at night. A good bet is to book a night tour beforehand so that you have someone guide you through the city. You may like this: http://bit.ly/1eBGMcV about 6 years ago

Where is the best place to stay in Rishikesh?

Depends on your requirement. Amongst the best luxury hotels, Ananda in the Himalayas, Vasundhara Palace, and Narayana Spa and Resort are the premier hotels. Ganga beach resort, located on the banks of the Ganga, is also a great option. If you are looking for one close to the rafting area then Hotel Gange Kinare is a viable option. It is situated in the heart of Rishikesh, overlooks Rajaji National park, and has a riverside coffee shop too. about 6 years ago

Is there a good/safe place to hang out in the New Delhi Airport during an 8 hour layover on the way to Nepal?

An 8-hr layover means you can't really go out and see the city. Delhi's T3 has lots of hang-out options. Though shopping would be a much expensive affair there, you can pass some time in the food court and spa. An amazing sleep-on facility has been introduced at T3, where you can rent pay-per-use lounges and sleeping pods! http://www.newdelhiairport.in/sleeping-pods-airport.aspx There is also a hotel located within T3. Oh yes, definitely. The place is dramatic, fun, and has a surprise for you at every step. We are all movie addicts, adventure junkies, and love some imagination once in a while. There's waterworld, the Mummy ride, sci city, Hollywood zone, and so much more. Take your kids there. See this: http://bit.ly/16sXMJb over 6 years ago
