Going to Shimla , 13 Dec , what kind of weather to expect and what's to do , any suggestions where to stay ,

Shimla in December is all snow. And there are lots of snow-related activities to check out. Go ice skating in the famous Shimla ice skating ring. 1. The Ridge area would be spectacular this time of the year. Christ Church is walking distance from there. 2. Hire a cab and visit Jakhoo temple; it'll be a 3-4 four hour excursion in total. 3. I didn't enjoy much at the Tara Devi temple. If you visit JAkhoo, you can leave this one (in case you are not too religious). 4. Indian Institute of Advanced Study has an amazing architecture. This will be a great visit. You can also make a short trip to Shoghi. Check out more options and packages here: http://bit.ly/IcBDuu about 6 years ago

Is it better to book budget accommodation in Kerala before we go?

Yes it is better you book some of the hotels you'll be staying at, because February is one of the preferred seasons for visiting Kerala. There is also a Kerala Village Fair that's organized in the first week of Feb. You should at least pre-book a hotel for your February stay, and can look for others while you are there. And not just rates, you get better rooms at the same rate if you book beforehand. (Like often, the rooms with better views get filled first). Apart from Cochin, you should try Alleppey and Kovalam (if you're a beach person), Munnar (for its tea estates and hills), Thekaddy (for its greenery and wildlife). I plan to travel in northern india next January.

Typhoid and malaria is recommended esp if you plan to go trekking or wildlife watching in forest reserves. Though it'll be cold (and hence lower chances of infections) in northern India, it also depends on where you are going. If you are visiting Varanasi, Haridwar or Mathura and are likely to feast on the local food, get vaccinated against infections. Book good hotels and try to choose one that provides good food. Polio is a must and in India is compulsorily administered to all children below the age of 5. about 6 years ago

What cities should I travel to in Thailand?

Chiang Mai is a culturally rich city no doubt, but it is at the other end of Thailand, whereas Bangkok and the rest of the touristy cities are at the other end, in south Thailand. So, it might be a lil difficult for you to squeeze in all of them in a week. Might also be a little expensive if you are to take a detour to Chiang Mai and then fly back to Bangkok. Chiang Mai does have some touristy attractions such as like Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, the Elephant Park, Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang. The lantern festival happens in mid November, so if you are already set to go, you could catch it! about 6 years ago

What cities should I travel to in Thailand?

Besides Bangkok, there's Phuket, islands like Koh Samui, Phi Phi (though you can tour Phi Phi on a day trip from Koh Samui too) and Pattaya. In Bangkok, the area central for most tourist attractions would be Sukhumvit. Being near to most attractions, it has a lot of hotels and is well connected by train to the rest of the city. If you have a week, you should visit Koh Samui (2 nights) and Phuket (2 nights) after doing Bangkok in 2 days. This might help in planning a sensible itinerary: http://bit.ly/TybcyR about 6 years ago

Are there relaxation tours in Ha Long Bay?

Halong Bay itself is a 'relaxation' spot. Very beautiful, with clear waters and greenery around. Day trips as well as overnight tours are organized from Hanoi to Halong. Another great place to go to for a relaxing trip is Hue. about 6 years ago

What is the best Neighborhood to stay at in Singapore?

Marina Bay, Orchard Road, River Valley are of course the nicest, poshest areas to stay in, but they are also expensive. If you are looking for a more budget-friendly option, Little India and Chinatown are great. Easy connectivity with MRT, restaurants, shops, touristy attractions are all close-by. about 6 years ago
