Has any person in a wheelchair or scooter traveled in Moscow? Any tips about getting around?

I just came back from Moscow. I use a VERY lightweight scooter. The only thing I couldn't do was go down to the Metro (no elevator). Getting across the major avenues required a policeman to stop traffic for me. "No" is the first thing they say. But you need to be persistent when they keep telling you to go down the stairs to the Metro underground crossover. Also the Hop on Hop off buses are free for the handicapped. Not every street has a ramp. almost 6 years ago
