I just landed in Melbourne. It's 12:30am Thursday morning. What can I do to pass 8 hours

Well, at 12.30 in the morning, not all that much. A taxi to and from the airport will take 40 minutes and cost around $50 each way. Unless you want to go to a nightclub (and I don't know any myself), you will be stuck in a quiet city). Have a sleep. about 6 years ago

Biggest place to buy tents in sydney

Sussex St actually. Good shops there are Paddy Palin, Mountain Equipment, Trek & Travel, MacPac and SnowGum. There is Kathmandu there but the quality of the gear there has gone down; I may buy socks and shirts there - maybe - but not technical equipment like tent, rucksack or Gortex coat. about 6 years ago

Must see's in the South Island, New Zealand?

Mount Cook (and the drive there) Lake Tekapo, the lake at Twizel, Queenstown, Wanaka, Arthur's Pass, Haas Pass, Milford Sound. The treks are sublime, if you like doing that. If that's not your thing you can still do a day-walk from Glenorchy to Routeburn Flats. If ou like trekking, look at http://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/tracks-and-walks/fiordland/ about 6 years ago

    Broadway Show Tickets

Go to the theatre and buy the tickets there. They generally cost a fraction of the exorbitant charges of the web-site age agencies. about 6 years ago

I plan to travel to Budapest in August, any nice sites to visit . What are some of the must- haves in terms of food. Shopping?

Here's a list: take a tour of Parliament, have coffee and cake at the Gerbeau cafe, have lunch at the New York Cafe, book a magnificent dinner at the Gundel restaurant, visit the Holocaust Museum, take a tour of the Dohany utca synagogue and Jewish museum, swim in the champagne pool and the wave pool at the Gellert Hotel, visit the memorial of the shoes on the bank of the Danube (near Parliament) and find out what it means, buy tickets to the Budapest Opera (the musical standard is variable but the architecture is magnificent). Finally, check out the view from the Citadel. about 6 years ago
