It's totally fine, but it is more recommended that you find a travel buddy. When you ask around, ask security guards, or police officers. Be attentive when you're inside a bus. I suggest you ride the taxi all the time. But sometimes taxi drivers will eat your wallet. almost 7 years ago
Would like suggestions for nice beach and accommodation with local character in the Philippines. We are in our early seventies.
Boracay's over-prostituted and overrated. I suggest Caluwayan in Eastern Samar. I have been there once and travel going there and back was hard but worth it. :D I am planning to be there once I graduate. Anyway, you can ask away at planetapilipinas.com . Have fun here in the Philippines! almost 7 years ago
I am traveling alone for 11 days in the Philippines Jan 1-11. What places must I see? What things should I be particularly cautious of?
I suggest you visit Bicol. It's where Mount Mayon, the perfectly cone-shaped volcano, is. I don't know if January's a good time to go to Donsol (also in Bicol), but it's where the Gentle Giant is. You know, the biggest animal in the world. Let me know what kind of places you are looking for, (planetapilipinas.com) :D The Philippines would be awesome! If you will be staying with your friend, maybe you can ask him/her to tour you around their place. There are always something significant/historical/fun in every region. Enjoy the food, meeting people, and pictures! almost 7 years ago
