Should a solo female American dress conservatively in Istanbul?
Hi Kate Z. I always err on the side of conservative dress when traveling alone, especially in cities and in a culture where the dress norms may be conservative. Certainly, when visiting any government or religious places, it is the most respectful thing to do (to me this applies to anywhere in the world.) Check out other Chicago questions as there's a lot of similar info in there. In addition o above, I like the Loop for walking, Goose Island brewery, aquarium, great restaurants (Gil and goat, Blackbird, Tweet for breakfast, ) etc. it's a fun city. over 8 years ago

Jersey and Guernsey possibly, but that's it. A UK visa will not permit entry to other Commonwealth countries. over 8 years ago

All up and down Nanjing Road you'll be spoiled for choice. I also like Huaihai middle Road for unique shops and boutiques. XinTianDi is upscale but pleasant. over 8 years ago
