    Cancun or costa rica?

Hard to offer a choice that pitches a town against an entire country! Depends what you like doing, but my vote is for Costa Rica. Lots of outdoor activities and adventure sports, stunning and a variety of scenery, national parks etc. Cancun to me seems more of a beach holiday, snorkel/dive and nightlife. Going to cultural spots like Chichen Itza or Tulum is possible but you'll need to coordinate it by either renting a car, taking public transport (lots of good options) or going with an operator. the food in my view is more interesting in Mexico. about 9 years ago

The Universal Studios in LA are a tourist trap or they can be interesting in some way for a wannabe european movie buff?

Hi. I went there years ago, so no idea if they have added or changed how they do things but I do recall it being a terrific time, despite the touristy nature of it.The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is brewing up some nw stuff, so check their site. There's a,lso a Hollywood Museum. over 9 years ago

Does AT&T have prepaid data plan?

Also look at Best Buy as I saw pre-paid options with AT&T in their stores too. May be the same as above, so not sure. Check on their website www.bestbuy.com over 9 years ago

I'll be spending the day in Madrid in between flights, late in August and would like to find a personal tour guide to take me around ...?

I recommend trying to get your luggage checked through to your end destination if it's all ticketed together. If not, there's left luggage at some of the terminals. Best to explore the city without risking car getting broken I to (as happened to me in Madrid once) over 9 years ago

    Nightlife in Santa Clara

Very amusing answers as I would tend to agree, but it dependss in what you mean, clubs, lively bars, good restarants etc. But if you had stay around there because you are at a trade show or some such, then try Palo Alto or Mountain View for restaurants/bars. Gordon Birsch is in Palo Alto and San Jose actually. Good place to catch a post work crowd (mostly techies) happy hour. San Jose has a bit more going on, but from what I can recall, a very young scene. The clubs are around 1st and 2nd. over 9 years ago
