Canada in autumn is it red?

It depends on where (and when in autumn) in Canada you mean, so a very broad answer is, "yes!" I.m used to the timing of the peak colours in Vermont, so with as a guide and knowing it peaks further north earlier, I'd say sometime in Sept is peak. Good guides are the various Province tourism websites that dedicate sections to the Fall Foliage, here's a page with many links: http://gocanada.about.com/od/outdooradventuretravel/tp/fall_foliage_reports.htm For the US weather.com has a tracker- they may have a section for Canada too. over 9 years ago

What's fun to do in mammoth lakes

Depending on season, but great hiking, check out Devils Postpile National Monument, and if driving Bodie State Park and Mono Lake are amazingly special. Bodie is a ghost town. over 9 years ago

Is it safe to travel to Egypt in August?

Some World Nomads information that may be helpful: http://adventures.worldnomads.com/destinations/64/Egypt.aspx http://www.is-egypt-safe.com/ I think tourism means too much to their economy to jeopardize tourists with domestic political turmoil. I'd be OK with going. over 9 years ago

I will be in Kingston next week. I need to get to Windsor what is the quickest way to drive there on a Friday about 5 pm

Hmmm weekend rush hour. Tough. I'd be inclined to take the A308 along Hampton Crt to Windsor, bu it may have traffic. You could take also take Hampton Rd(313) that bleeds into Uxbridge Rd (312) (via Teddington) to A315 then take A30 towards Staines and catch the A308 there. That's the route I've always taken towards the airport though no idea what it's typically like at 5pm on a Friday though. over 9 years ago

Is Caracas a good starting point for a trip to the Patagonia along the atlantic coast? Would it be better to start in Northern Brazil?

How long is a piece of string? It depends on how long you have. Glad you are seriously considering the safety and crime factors. I did learn last Fall from a tour leader of a global tour company that he HATES going to Venezuela because of its dangers (corrupt officials, dodgy taxis, theft etc). I have heard that Caracas is very unsafe from both people who live there and my brother who travels there a lot for work. When I was in Venezuela many years ago it was after elections, major landslides and prison riots where inmates broke loose in Caracas-crazy time to be there and I didn't feel too safe just heading to a coastal town not far from the airport. That was a unique time to be there (granted) but from what I have heard, it hasn't scrubbed up dramatically since then. The rest of time in Venezuela (Los Roques and Isla Margarita) were fine and fun. I would say, if you go, just make sure your flight lands during the day. Here are two links to weigh up (one is the US government take, hence conservative, but Virtual tourist takes experiences from other travelers which I put a lot of stock in) http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1059.html http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/South_America/Venezuela/Distrito_Federal/Caracas-1637665/Warnings_or_Dangers-Caracas-TG-C-1.html almost 10 years ago
