Any suggestions for nice reasonably priced central hotel in San Francisco in July ?

The local Joie de Vivre hotel chain has several fun hotels in great locations in and around SF, including the Vitale, which is right across from the Ferry Building, on the Embarcadero. (This location is excellent, and has immediate access to the historic streetcars as well as BART rapid transit.) Each JDV hotel has its own specific vibe, and there is a range of prices. I've stayed in several, and never been disappointed, although you should understand that, in some of the older, refurbished hotels, some of the rooms may be small. Ask for a corner room on a high floor for better views and less street noise. over 7 years ago

Best area to stay to see San Francisco and napa valley for one week for 5 people?

It depends on your budget; this is an expensive area and the high end hotels around Napa and Sonoma can be just as expensive as in SF. I would stay in SF and make a day trip to Napa Valley. Yountville and St Helena are particularly fun towns. On the other hand, if you have 5 people, it could be fun and more affordable to actually rent a vacation house through one of the websites like vrbo.com. There are plenty to choose from, both in the Bay Area and Napa. over 7 years ago

    Best bars on weekend?

In the Rockridge area, down the block from the BART station, Ben & Nick's has an amazing beer selection and is an extremely friendly place. All the locals love it. over 7 years ago
