Traveling around Mongolia for a month in August; best ways for traveling alone, safety, Equiptment/clothing required?
Hi Michael, I was there summer 2009 and basis on my experience tents and all camping equipment are kind of expensive comparing to Europe and there were not so many options (though there are some second hand shops, also no cheap anyway). It seemed easy to find a second hand motorbike to buy, but as I do not know hot to drive those, I didn´t really check. Further than that, public transport is not great. There are not so many buses, there is only a train line (north to south going trough Ulaan Baatar) and there are almost no roads, so it takes age to go around. Another options is to hire a taxi for the day but they will try to rip you off (bargain if you can). I didn´t like UB so much, but the rest of the country is incredible. Best of luck. Enjoy it. over 7 years ago
Hong Kong: up to a week, depending what you want to do/see. Macau: 2-3 days (more if you really enjoy gambling and so on) over 7 years ago
Public transportation is good, though crowed sometimes. Train, buses and boats get you everywhere around. It is easy to figure out, names are also in English. over 7 years ago
