How expensive is Thailand? I am budget traveler looking to backpack in Thailand for 2 wks and only 2000 dollars to spare..Is that feasible?
You can try staying with local people! You can get such budgeted accommodation through sites like travelmob.com or 9flats.com - it lets you stay at local's homes. It allows short term rental and is cheaper than hotels! I tried it once and it was a wonderful experience. My local host brought me to all the popular attractions and even introduced me to his friends. It was way better than staying at a hotel cos I got to experience the Thai culture :D over 8 years ago
Daniel, forget the hotels. Try staying at local's homes instead. You can rent homes at sites like www.travelmob.com or www.9flats.com. Personally, I think that it's a more meaningful experience than staying at hotels as it's cheaper, and you get to meet the local people through your host! :D They can show you all the best places to go anyway since they live there and are more familiar with Bali. over 8 years ago
