What are the highlights of a P&O New Caledonia cruise?

Hi. Might be a bit late to reply, but I'll add this for anyone else's info in future. Noumea is the capital of New Caledonia. I've been there twice on P&O Cruises. My suggestion is to go to Ouen Toro. It is the site of a couple of WWII Canons that are still in place. The views from the top of the hill are amazing, although if you walk up, you'd need a moderate level of fitness. We caught a local bus (Route #1), and it only cost about the equivalent of AUD$2 each way. If you prefer, you can book a tour once you get there-the tour costs $15, alternatively, you can book aboard P&O but it will cost a lot more. Amadee Island is reportedly very good, although I haven't been there. Isle of Pines- a lovely Island, with lots to do. We just spent the day walking around the point (the long way) to get to Kanumera Bay, and snorkel led around Sacred Rock. The water was lovely & the snorkeling was good. Instead of turning right off the Jetty as we did, turn left and you'll reach Kanumera Bay in less than 5 minutes. over 8 years ago
