Nova Scotia Road Trip -- August 2013

It depends which area of Nova Scotia you are traveling to! The entire province is spectacular with many things to see but since I am an expert on Cape Breton, which is the island located right next to (and is a part of) Nova Scotia, I will tell you that it is not to be missed! Some must-see items include: -The Fortress of Louisbourg which is a restored 18th century French Fortress -The Cabot Trail which has been voted most scenic drive in North America -Alexander Graham Bell Museum -Cape Breton Highlands National Park Some good restaurants include: Amadeo's in Sydney Coastal in Ingonish and many others but I do not eat out very often so I can't think of the names off the top of my head! In terms of Lodging, The Keltic Lodge in Ingonish is probably the nicest place to stay but there are many hotels, motels, lodges, resorts, cabins and campgrounds located around the island and I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience at any of the ones I have stayed at! Besides the above, Cape Breton is full of beautiful, long, sandy beaches, scenic look-offs, hiking trails, lakes and rivers. Fishing, sailing, kayaking, whale watching, cycling and many other activities can be done safely on the island as well! over 7 years ago
