What is a great, non-touristy, maybe a little avant garde but authentic Moroccan restaurant in Casablanca with alcohol, fit for foodies?
Sadly, I don't think this combo exists. Lots of great dining (especially for Morocco) but Moroccan without tourists and with booze? Nope. over 7 years ago
My wife often spends time - to and from work, markets, parks, etc - alone as a western (blonde) woman. She sometimes gets mild harassment, but she hasn't had anything threatening or dangerous happen. We hear stories though... Dress moderately, know your neighbourhood and keep your head on your shoulders and you'll be fine. over 7 years ago
Marrakech is very busy and full of tourists - for better and for worse... There is always lots going on in M. Fez is a bit... Grittier. Feels more magical to me, but it's claustrophobic and can be intense. They are very different views of Morocco... Visit both! over 7 years ago
