What are some unique, not just mainstream suggestions for Barcelona?

We had a blast renting bikes and exploring smaller neighborhoods full of locals. Bikes allow you to expand your range hugely and they have quite a few bike lanes. almost 9 years ago

    Cycling in the US?

Yes, the West coast especially is bike friendly. I recommend wearing helmets, most people here do. But the US is big and locations are spread out. If you want to see many places you'll have to drive as well. Small towns usually have cheaper hotels and you can buy food in grocery stores to save money. almost 9 years ago

    Casual Bicycling, coast of Scotland

Well I'll answer my own question now that we're back. Yes, bikes are wonderful in Scotland. Not too cold but layer clothes. Bikes enabled us to see a lot more and 'wander' around more efficiently. almost 9 years ago
