Everything is OK with a boys ;) There are a lot of factors, that you need to take into account, to chose which place is better for you. If you like more silent and peacefull life, interested in a culture, and want to live among friendly and intelligent people and have a resistance to pretty cold winds the Sant-Petersburg is your choise. If you wanna feel yourself as a part of a big city life on your skin and ready to work hard on a valuable job you might like Moscow too. If you want to look at the beautifull nature of Russia you must visit such places, like Baikal lake and Altai. Each place has it's own beauty ;) Ahm.. A prooflinks... sort of :) http://vimeo.com/34134308 http://vimeo.com/36397732 And about gangsters and killers on a streets. I'd say it's an overstatement :) At least for places listed above. Racism.. yes, may be. In regard to Middle Asia, at least. But from my opinion, people becomes more civilized here, step by step. Slowly, but continuously :) over 7 years ago
heading to Russia during Easter, has anyone travelled via the trans-Siberianor have any good suggestions for the best way 2do and see Russia?
It depends :) How long you're planning to travel and what kind of travel prefer? Personally, I've travelled from Moscow to Irkutsk via trans-siberian (to the Baikal Lake) last summer. This place is defenitly worth to look, if you like tracking, hiking and such things. Also take a look at south Altai. It's not right on your way, but you'll find there the most breathtaking nature of the whole Russia (imho). If you're interesting in visiting russian Cities, then, I don't think, that I'll surprise you, - Saint-Petersburg and Moscow - is what you're looking. Also, I would consider another kind of transport. Some of internal flights is about the same price as tickets on train (most of avia-companies has season sales). about 7 years ago
