What is the public transport like in Prague?

Fantastic. Well connected, cheap, efficient and clean. Make sure you have the right ticket value valid for all modes. You don't want to be spot checked and fined heavily. And watch your pockets in a packed space almost 8 years ago

If there are 10 things in Prague one shouldn't Miss, what would they be?

To be more specific: Buy a ticket and do a proper tour of the castle, views from monastery, loreto church, Charles bridge, climb up the st vitus cathedral clock tower for amazing views, old town square and surrounding churches and small squares, catch a music performance at an opera house or philharmonic at rudolfinum, if you are interested do a full tour of the jewish sites (expensive), walk along the river for great views, cute quiet street called novy svet, and finally just walk around in the unesco zone - lots of Kodak moments all over the place. Don't forget cafes - some of the best deserts. Beer is cheaper then water. almost 8 years ago

Will extreme cold weather be a safety factor for travel in Europe?

It is bitterly cold these days but not 'unsafe' if you are properly decked out. However, avoid he countries hardest hit - Ukraine, Romania, and southern Balkans. Moving around will be a problem. If you are not planning to hop around a lot, traveling won't be a problem otherwise you'll encounter some delays. almost 8 years ago

Places to see and things to do on a 5 day trip to Berlin?

Spend at least a day at Museuminsel, get an advance ticket to see the Reichstag (they sell out fast), the usual sights like Brandenburg gate and Potsdamer Platz and surrounding areas will take up an easy going day, if you can see the Berliner philharmonic performance you won't regret it, a day for the older former east Berlin parts. Have a drink at the Adlon, stroll on Unter den Linden, visit fancy shops, have a meal in the Gendarmenmarkt. Spend a day touring western Berlin with Kaiser church and Charlottenberg palace. If you have a spare day, take a trip to Potsdam and the Sansoussi palace. almost 8 years ago
