Is the Science museum mostly for children? And how about Duck tours?

The Museum of Science is outstanding for both kids and adults (though your son is a bit young for it). There are several rooms that are largely for adults; for me, the Mathematics room -- designed by Charles & Ray Eames decades ago -- is a real highlight every visit, a space that communicates the history and concepts of advanced math in fascinating ways. The butterfly room, the special exhibitions, the crazy mirrors... it's all wonderful if you have any interest at all in science. We live in RI and are members, going whenever we're able. Do note that the parking garage is inadequate for the traffic they get on busy days; best to take the T if you can. If you're interested in food and drink, there are many good options: Hungry Mother, Oleana, Sportello & Drink, Eastern Standard, and Toro are some of my favorites. There's now an excellent cocktail scene if you're into that. (I am.) over 6 years ago
