If I have a US driver's license, will I be able to rent a car in Australia?

Hi Graham, I found this site for you that I think answers your question (and gives you a little more info as well) http://www.austroads.com.au/driver-licences/overseas-driver-licences Hope it helps, Lisa almost 7 years ago

I want travel alone, but i don't know where... Anybody can tell me a place for my dream??... A friend mentioned a phi phi island

It really comes down to what you enjoy doing and how much of a challenge you want? I love south east asia - there is so much to explore and as a solo traveller you are guaranteed to meet people (locals and other travellers) and have a brilliant time. Thailand is lovely - as is Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Bali, Flores. almost 7 years ago

I'll be in NYC in March with my boyfriend and staying in TriBeCa. We are on a budget and would like to pack as much as we can in 4 days.

Hi Isabelle So jealous, NY is one of my all time favourite cities to wander around in - and its so cheap! (easily done on a budget) When working in Philadelphia for a few months, I made several day trips to NY and had a ball. Heres my journal. http://journals.worldnomads.com/lisaf/story/88334/USA/A-Day-Trip-to-New-York There is also a place on Broadway (half tix?) that sells tickets to shows same-day at a third of the price. I didnt get to do this, but plan on doing this for my next trip. Have a great time! Lisa almost 7 years ago

Best hostels to stay in Paris ??

GerryF - try www.agoda.com for last minute specials. You might be able to get a decent hotel for the price of a hostel (like I did!) I found a room in a cute little hotel in Bastille called BLC Design hotel at a fraction of the normal rack rate. almost 7 years ago

wondering of any adventure kinda things around goldie, byronbay, bundaberg, rockhampton??? thanks

Well, you're going coastal so I imagine a lot of water activities would be available to you. Surfing, snorkelling, diving, sea kayaking etc. Just inland from Brisbane is a waterhole (beyond Caboulture) that you shouldn't miss. Its a bit out of the way, about 2 hrs drive, but worth it! Also some beautiful bushwalks in the Byron Bay area towards Bangalow and Nimbim. Definitely worth a detour there. almost 7 years ago

Am I correct that I don't need a visa for SA or Botswana for a visit under 90 days?

Hi Sally, it really depends which country you come from. If you are from one of these countries, you do NOT require a visa prior to arriving in Botswana: http://www.botswanaembassy.org/countries-that-do-not-require-visa/ almost 7 years ago

    travel through Asia

Your daughter can also fly via Singapore or Bangkok to the UK. www.lastminute.com.au have some great fares depending on the time of year she wants to travel. Does she intend on stopping over in Asia, or is this purely for transiting? almost 7 years ago

    Thailand for oldies....

Elsa, alcohol is readily available in Thailand and the hotel you are staying in might even have a nice swim-up bar ;) but wont hurt to take some duty free as well. As for your husbands pre-existing medical condition, make sure you have a decent travel insurance policy that will cover him for anything that might happen. almost 7 years ago
