Can there be problems with carrying your own medications into Bangkok? I will be there three days.

Its always best to travel with a letter from your doctor explaining what the drug is an why it is needed. Also a good idea to keep more than a few days worth in your carry on just in case your checked in luggage gets delayed. If this does happen, you should be able to get a script in NZ for Betaferon through the GP and pharmacist. almost 7 years ago

What is the best Bed and Brekfast in Sydney?

Where in Sydney are you looking to stay? There is a cute one down at the Rocks (near the Harbour) http://www.bbsydneyharbour.com.au/ but would also recommend looking around Paddington area as well. Close to the city, beaches and a little quiet. over 7 years ago

What is a good budget for spending money for a student semester in Sydney?

Sydney is a very expensive city to live in and even as a student I would suggest you budget for a daily allowance of $50 food only. Travel expenses can be approx $50/week. You can buy an unlimited bus/train/ferry ticket for $41 if you plan on staying in the city area. Entertainment is where you'll get stung - alcohol is expensive, as are the movies and most tourists spots. over 7 years ago

How safe is it to go to Trinidad for a few weeks of consulting work?

I think jazzmanblues may have confused Trinidad with Thailand. Trinidad has some of the highest murder rates in the world and your husband should do some research before he heads off there. Know how to avoid trouble and exercise caution. Carry a little bit of cash (taxis only accept cash), and travel during day light hours. If you out at night, be somewhere you know and trust. Arrange your hotel to collect you from bars and restaurants. If you're husband is consulting there, he's probably connected with some of the local anyway, so get him to ask them about local customs (like greetings etc). over 5 years ago

Visiting Melbourne and Adelaide in a week's time. What must do and visit beside vineyard?

Melbourne is my favourite Australian city - I love it for the food, shopping, walking around the city and the best customer service in the world. Walking the streets of Melbourne for colourful cultural experiences, you will find laneways of artworks and great little cafes/wine bars. Adelaide is also a lovely city - but a lot quieter than Melbourne or Sydney. Expect a lot of gardens and churches. Travel up to the Adelaide Hills for some "German" style villages including little restaurants and art galleries and then keep going until you reach the Barossa Valley (beyond the Clare Valley). over 7 years ago

Information sought regarding riding/hiring motorcycle to ride from Lhasa to Kathmandu in April.

Hi Phil Sounds like a really great trip, and the perfect time of year to go! Hiring a bike in Lhasa and self touring would be extremely difficult, (you will definitely need a guide a motorbike permit in Tibet). Have you considered doing it in the reverse - ie from Kathmandu to Lhasa along the Friendship highway? You'll need to arrange your visas and permits before you travel, as well as find a decent guide to travel with you. My husband was looking into this for his birthday, and found a company called Blazing Trails in New Delhi - they do tours across Nepal and Tibet and may be able to help you. http://www.blazingtrailstours.com Good luck!
