Anyone go hot air ballooning in #Namibia? Advice for trip in July/Aug 2012? Thanks!

Namib Sky Adventure Tours offer hot air ballooning over Sousesvlei (I dont know if I spelt that correctly) - sadly we didnt have enough time to do this. The sand dunes are magnificent and probably just as spectacular from the air. You can also try searching hot air ballooning around Swakopmund where there are quite a few adventure companies including 4WD sand duning etc. over 7 years ago

What is a good Bali Itinerary: 2-3 Weeks

Balian and Medewi are fantastic surf beaches (if you're an experienced surfer) and also Canggu. I arrived home this morning, these are the highlights that are still fresh in my mind - hiring a jeep ($12 a day) and just driving anywhere - Pemuteran (North West coast) for snorkelling and diving - Munduk overnight stay in the mountains - surf at Balian, with a late lunch on the beach - Flores (one word - wow) - Dinner at Betelnut in Canggu (an absolute must) - a few days hanging out in Ubud to chill. We were gone 3 weeks and spent most time in Flores snorkelling and visiting Komodo Island. I can highly recommend this as a new adventure, its just so easy to fly over and walk along the pier where you can charter an old Indonesian fishing boat (with crew) for less than what you would pay for one night accom in Bali. The islands are amazing, the people gorgeous, and the experience so worth it. We looked into Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida - this will have to be on our next trip now. over 7 years ago

Going with family to Singapore for four days...what is a must do

Definitely the Night Safary and Senotsa Island for kids - and mine also found a ride on the MRT (subway) quite fun. over 7 years ago

5+ hour layover in Singapore on our way to Borneo. Is is easy/worth it to try and do something during that time?

Or - why not try the Chilli Crab at the Red House on the East Coast? Its a short taxi ride (and cheap) and depending on the time of day, you can sit outside with a beer and enjoy the sunset. over 7 years ago

Can somebody tell me about car rentals on Bali without driver?

We hired a jeep and drove ourselves around without any fuss at all. It cost $12 per day (ex Ubud) and meant we could explore, go where we wanted, stop etc. You have to be mindful of the some of the roads (ie from GIlimunuk to Ubud) but apart from that little stretch, it was fine. I highly recommend it. over 7 years ago

Best value scuba dive school in Bali?

Bali has many dive schools, beware of the ones not registered/licensed. My recommendation is to head North to Pemuteran and on the main road if Reef Seen. They are well established and also involved in the reef conservation project, as well as the turtle sanctuary. A little more expensive than some, but you are definitely looked after and the equipment is very good. They also have little cottages you can rent out. Its been run by an Aussie guy for the past 20 years. over 7 years ago

What is the best way to get from Sanur, Bali to Nusa Lembongan and how long will it take?

There is a public boat each morning from Sanur which costs about USD$20 (early boat at 8am) - or another public boat from Padangbai every hour or so. Or you can catch the express boat from Sanur for $45 which leaves once per day as well. over 7 years ago
